The MIANS Nova Scotia Music and Industry Awards, held yesterday in Halifax, are part of Nova Scotia Music Week / RendezVous Folk! 2004 from 18-21 November. MIANS is a non-profit organization based in Halifax, NS. Formed in 1989, its mandate is to foster, develop, and promote the full potential of the music industry in Nova Scotia. Awards were given out in a total of 34 categories.

Bruce Aitken is also co-Founder (along with his wife Gloria Jean) of the Cape Breton International Drum Festival, which was also nominated for Event of the Year by MIANS. Bruce will also soon be featured in the new Taye StudioMaple 'The Most Important Thing ad campaign.
