New Shaft Design From Convertech Lets Converters Wind Multiple Width Rolls, and Sensitive Materials, on the Same Shaft The new Air Roll Lock Differential Shaft design from Convertech, Inc., is a significant improvement over competitive differential shaft designs due to the addition of both GlideLock™ Clutched rollers and CoreLock™ Pads. Wharton, NJ (PRWEB) September 1, 2007 -- The new Air Roll Lock Differential Shaft design from Convertech, Inc., is a significant improvement over competitive differential shaft designs due to the addition of both GlideLock™ Clutched rollers and CoreLock™ Pads.
GlideLock™ clutched rollers feature a bi-directional, internal clutching mechanism which actuates based on the location of each core on the shaft. When the shaft begins to rotate, the rollers under each core lock independently and apply tension to each core. As the material is wound on to the cores, the GlideLock™ clutched rollers self-adjust to apply the correct tension to the material.
The newest design of Convertech's GlideLock™ clutched rollers feature CoreLock™ pads, which grip the firmly core on loading. When multiple width cores are loaded on to the shaft, the pads create individual friction zones to grip each core. When the rollers engage, the pads ensure that each roller grips the cores firmly, providing the correct tension for each material.
