INSPIRING WOMEN" TO BE HONORED BY MICHAEL PETER HAYES SALON Nominations for Recognition Due May 11th Mothers Day

Do you know a woman who has inspired others by speaking up? Someone who has made a positive difference, whether in her local community or on a larger stage? Michael Peter Hayes Salon wants to help you celebrate her accomplishments with an exciting program called Inspiring Women Who Lead to Positive Change."

Do you know a woman who has inspired others by speaking up? Someone who has made a positive difference, whether in her local community or on a larger stage? Michael Peter Hayes Salon wants to help you celebrate her accomplishments with an exciting program called Inspiring Women Who Lead to Positive Change."

The idea for the program originated from a conversation that Hayes had with one of his customers whose son is serving in Iraq. When he asked Lee Bogart what he could do, they came up with the idea of showing support for our troops by getting all of East Norwich to hang a yellow ribbon on their home or business.

Once we had started the process, I realized that there are a lot of women in our area who really help bring about positive change, whether in their homes, their workplaces, their communities or elsewhere," said Michael Peter Hayes. We thought this program would be a wonderful way to honor some great local women and their achievements."

Entering someones name is quite simple. Tell us your story or the story of an inspiring woman you know in 300 words or fewer," explained Hayes. Well select several of them and honor the women behind them by framing their stories and hanging them throughout the salon as well as posting them on our Web site (www.mphexpress.com). In addition, each of these women will receive a free bag of surprises from the Salon.

All stories are due by Sunday, May 11, Mothers Day, and the women to be honored will be announced Saturday, May 31.

We decided to stop accepting stories on Mothers Day because our mothers are the first inspiring women for most of us. By choosing this date, then, were also honoring mothers," explained Hayes whose own mother, Jeanne Hayes was a major inspiration in his life.

Anyone who wishes to nominate a woman should write a story of 300 or fewer words and attach it to the nomination form, which can be picked up at the Michael Peter Hayes Salon in East Norwich or any participating business listed below. People who do not have the nomination form should send their story along with their nominees address (street, city, state and ZIP) and phone number as well as their own address and phone number. Stories can be dropped off at the Salon or mailed to: Michael Peter Hayes Salon, 1023 Oyster Bay Road, East Norwich, NY 11732 (in the Blueberries Shopping Center).

One exceptional story will be selected and its subject honored with a host of complimentary gifts. According to Hayes, this woman will receive:

·    A complimentary dinner for two at Angelinas in East Norwich

·    Limo service to and from the dinner, courtesy of Double D Limousine

·    Special reception at Michael Peter Hayes Salon honoring the subject hosted by Fiddleheads in Oyster Bay

Michael Peter Hayes has been cutting hair for two decades. After studying with the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, Mr. Hayes returned to the U.S. and worked on many television shows, especially on the Fox Network. Among the stars whose hair he has cut are the original cast of Batman, Barbara Eden, Mary Tyler Moore, Donny and Marie Osmond, William Shatner, Mary Lou Henna and the cast of Melrose Place. He opened his salon in East Norwich in 1997.
