Dr. Lycka and The Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation Give 70K to a Research Fund of the Cross Cancer Clinic

This gift helps to fund a chair in research and will go a long way in fighting melanoma skin cancer.

Edmonton, Canada (PRWEB) January 31, 2008 -- Dr. Barry Lycka (www.barrylyckamd.com), president of the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation announced today a 70,000 gift to the Mary Johnston research chair in melanoma research today. This gift helps to fund a chair in research and according to Dr. Lycka, “Will go a long way in fighting the epidemic of melanoma skin cancer we are facing.”

According to Canadian Statistics, there will be 4500 new melanoma cases and 880 melanoma-related deaths in Canada this year, according to statistics from several cancer agencies. “It is our goal to make the number of those dieing drastically lower” Says Dr. Lycka.
