Inductron GmbH starts to use abas ERP As Inductron (formerly Vacuumschmelze Schrobenhausen) broke off from the parent company as a result of a management buy-out (MBO), it was quickly apparent to manager Berger that the business would be able to stand alone problem-free - positive business results and a well-filled order book confirm this. It quickly became clear that the abas Business Software would fulfil the needs of Inductron in the areas of functionality, competence, reliability and in a price/performance ratio. Their fields of business are development, production and distribution of inductive coiled parts for the electronic industry. The product spectrum ranges from pot core coils, high frequency coils, bridges (conductors), toroidal core coils and inductors for SMD technology.
Securing IT support after the MBO It was important after the MBO to make sure there was IT support for the business processes. At that point in time, the business was still bound to the SAP/R3 system from the parent company. Using the system incurred high costs, and in October 2002 it was decided to look for a new ERP provider.
Decision for ABAS When chosing the system the focus was upon one main question: Which software can represent the companies processes the best? ERP providers which were considered were tested. The first contact to the abas Partner Koldt GmbH http://www.koldt.de was made at SYSTEMS 2002, in Munich. It quickly became clear that the abas Business Software would fulfil the needs of Inductron in the areas of functionality, competence, reliability and in a price/performance ratio. The Koldt software presentation convinced the employees of Vacuumschmelze to use the software. Ms Sedlmaier, Manager of Purchasing and Finance, is certain that: abas ERP covers the desired functionalities in the standard.
The contract was signed at CeBIT 2003. In the meantime, Koldt have set up a project plan, which was brought to life after consultation with Inductron. At the moment the project work is in full swing. The real start for abas Business Software is planned for CW 22.
