New 'Bowie Bonds Issue Inspired System Available to Investors; BET.Com/Yaheard Discovery First Offering

Investing in CD Music Rights is now possible for smaller entities.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) June 3, 2003 - Securitization of Intellectual property took another turn for the better today," Tony Reynolds, CEO of SupersonicUSA announced today with the opening of his auction on the DigiCirc web site (http://www.digicirc.com). Now smaller entities can participate in receiving the long-term benefits of such deals."

Reynolds was referring to the launching of DigiCirc, a new auction-based platform that gives Intellectual Property rights owners the opportunity to raise capital by auctioning a percentage of CD Music Rights, Distribution Rights, Merchandising Rights, Tour Rights, etc. and gives others who want to be in the music industry a quick entrée in to the business.

BET.Com/Yaheards (Black Entertainment Televisions web site) first discovery, Justin Young, and SupersonicUSA Recording artist, is the first artist to go through the new system. Reynolds said, Justin was the first at BET.Com/Yaheard and now were the first here, and were very excited about the ability to expose our opportunity to the world!"

David Pullman, CEO of the Pullman Group started the trend in 1997 by creating the 'Bowie Bond as they are commonly known, because David Bowie was the first to issue such Bonds. Backed by Bowies future royalty earnings, the investment bank, Fahnestock & Co. placed $55 million of asset based securities for him. The bonds, which were snapped up entirely by Prudential Insurance Co. of America, were rated single A-3 by Moodys Investors Service Inc.

The trend is very popular with big name stars with deep catalogues. Nomura Capital placed $15.4 million of asset based securities for Rod Stewart. Other big names such as Holland-Dozier-Holland and James Brown have followed suit have asset based securities in the $30 million dollar range.

JayCee James, CEO of Serenity Entertainment, Inc. decided new artists without large catalogues were not being represented in the securitization format, and small entities that wanted to buy into these kinds of deals.

So he created an auction system that works like Ebay, with three different auction options, Standard, Dutch, and Reverse. Hence DigiCirc was born. James suggests the artists that use DigiCirc should have already established a significant fan base because he believes the buyers will typically be the fans of the bands involved. The power for artists to take charge of their own careers while allowing their fans to directly participate in their success, is a good step to allowing the truly creative potential in artists to flourish and let their fans touch a little more of the dream," he said.
