DANGER ERUPTS THE LOS ANGELES EL REY THEATER WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU MIX A HARD ROCKING BAND LIKE METALLICA WITH A SPLASH OF REGGAE LEGEND BOB MARLEY? DANGER. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 22 2003-- Recently featured on The Allan Handelman Show, Playboy, and radio stations across the United States and Canada, Peligro (Spanish for Danger) headlined the El Rey Theater on Friday, September 19th.
Setting off their United States tour, Peligro performed songs from their new album Sum of Our Surroundings, scheduled for release in December, as well as hit songs from their previous album Welcome to America. The crowd went wild when Peligro showed their diversity by mixing things up with smooth reggae and a brilliant punk rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze.
"The musicianship between the band is amazing," says Teresa Davis who traveled from nearby Orange County. " Peligro's sound is so hard and fast it would make a Harrier Jet fly by sound church quiet. These guys are awesome."
Peligro features punk legend D.H. Peligro who is best known as a member/songwriter of the California punk quartet The Dead Kennedys. The rocker is also a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nailbomb.
"D.H. Peligro is unstoppable," says Peligro fan Ian Downs. "His performance dished up sufficient doses of metal fury transforming him from a punk legend to a metal genius." ###
