FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Lazy Person's Whole Foods Cookbook is Here!

September 26, 2001

Honolulu, HI., USA-- In response to growing demand for an easy guide to whole foods cooking, noted nutritionist and author Dr. Stephen Byrnes has written and released The Lazy Person's Whole Foods Cookbook.

"Its about time," said Dr. Byrnes, speaking from his Honolulu office, "That people had at their fingertips a collection of recipes encompassing all food groups, from beverages to desserts, that embrace the principles of whole foods."

Byrnes, who has had over 100 articles and papers published in magazines around the world, defined whole foods cooking as, "Cooking that uses real, fresh foods in their natural states. Whole foods cooking does not use such new fangled "foods" like skim milk, imitation eggs, soda pop, processed vegetable oils, margarine, artificial flavors or colors, etc. The book includes recipes for healthful beverages; salads; easy to make salad dressings using healthy fats, oils, and spices; sauces and dips; fish and shellfish; beef; lamb; organ meats; vegetables, grains and legumes; and desserts."

"All in all, the book contains over 250 recipes, as well as introductory chapters on basic nutrition, nutritional values of selected foods, and cooking fundamentals. A significant portion of the preliminary chapters include the best places to purchase fresh, organic produce and animal foods such as meat, butter, and raw cheese."

Why write such a book? "I'm a bachelor," the 6 foot, 172 lb. cooking whiz said. "I had to learn early on how to fend for myself in the kitchen. But since I'm also a busy health professional, I don't always have the time to make elaborate meals so I became an expert at creating quick, nutritious dishes that don't require a lot of time or advance preparation. After serving a dinner for 15 students that took me less than an hour to prepare, I thought 'I should tell people how to do this,' because the biggest obstacle to people cooking for themselves is they mistakenly think it requires a lot of fuss. I'm here to tell them that it doesn't."

The Lazy Person's Whole Foods Cookbook can be gotten off of Byrnes' website, www.PowerHealth.net, in electronic format for $14.95. A CD version of the book is also available for $19.95. Dr. Byrnes may be contacted through his website or his e-mail, DrByrnes@hotmail.com.
