Acclaimed NY Artist/Photographer Tommy Flynn Announces New Website!
Acclaimed New York Artist/Photographer Announces www.TommyFlynn.com to Promote Popular Images and Collections with Photonica
New York (PRWEB) September 24, 2003 --Photographer and artist Tommy Flynn is known for his creation of dreamlike, beautiful, and unforgettable images -- pictures that are as popular commercially as they are artistically. Now Flynn announces a new website launch to promote his most popular images and collections (as seen with worldwide stock photography leader Photonica), located at www.TommyFlynn.com.
Im excited about the launch of the new site -- especially the ways in which the world wide web can now showcase the work of artists and photographers to a worldwide audience," comments Flynn. Im very proud of my longtime affiliation with stock providers such as Photonica, and am happy to have the opportunity to showcase that work all on a single site."
The new site, located at www.TommyFlynn.com, spotlights Flynns pictures in several different image collection topics which include Food, Concepts, Medical, and Nature. From his acclaimed new series Sliced Open," the Food section spotlights a series of sophisticated, beautiful, and often otherworldly close-ups of various fruits and vegetables sliced open" -- all vivid and startlingly clear. From the beautiful and delicate starburst pattern at the center of a watermelon radish, the clean lines and contrasts of a mushroom, the strange gelatinous glow of a passion fruit, or the deep purple, galaxy-like spiral of a red cabbage, this series finds the mysterious and beautiful even within a commonplace piece of fruit.
The Concepts section, meanwhile, features some of Tommys most popular and enduring images, including shadowy figures, a glowing white globe, a ladder leading straight into a bulls-eyes center, and a dollar sign flashing at the end of a necklace. In one of his most unforgettable Concept pictures, a hand reaches from the water toward a silvery blue vortex in an image that can be seen as an echo of the divine spark -- or as mysterious, mythological, or even vaguely disturbing. But, like all his images, its never less than beautiful.
Flynns Medical section is equally diverse, featuring variations on Caduceus images, fingerprints and palmprints, DNA spirals, simple, pale pill shapes, a forest of orange pill bottles, and many more -- including the moment of conception, as a single egg surrounded by sperm, and which is seen against an unexpectedly lush green background. These are just a few of the medical images Tommy Flynn adeptly captures with his camera -- images as exciting and dynamic as the field of medicine itself.
Rounding out the websites special topics and sections is Flynns outstanding Nature section, which spotlights glowing, elegant images from nature that, as with so much of his work, also offer the opportunity for metaphor or meaning. A snail is seen in half-shadow, a dog watches a series of empty footprints in the sand, the deep blue of a butterflys wings, a single gleaming, perfect acorn, and some striking, delicate macro closeups of leaves, one new and green, one autumnal.
In short, Tommys style is as varied as his subjects -- and his lens captures images and concepts from the real to the surreal. In addition to his work in photography, Flynn is also an accomplished artist and sculptor, and he creates many of the unique props seen in his pictures. And no matter what the medium, he continues to explore new ways to view the world, and to redefine from his expertly wielded lens the objects that shape everyday life. From the exotic, to the mundane, Flynns eye captures the magic inherent even in the most everyday objects, reimagining them with a wholly new, often exotic or otherworldly, life all their own.
