Nauvalis Appoints Keith Olenik as Senior Vice President of Consulting Services

Torrey Barnhouse, Chief Visionary Officer of Nauvalis, announced recently the company has appointed Keith Olenik as Senior Vice President of Consulting Services. In his new position, Mr. Olenik, M.A., R.H.I.A., C.H.P. ,will lead Nauvalis nationwide consulting practice.

Mr. Olenik has a bachelors degree in medical record administration from the University of Kansas and a masters degree in health services management with an emphasis in computer resources and information management from Webster University. He has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including long-term care, rehabilitation, psychiatric facilities, and most recently was the Chief Privacy Officer and Corporate Director of Health Information Management for Saint Lukes Health System in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Olenik was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the American Health Information Management Association and was the Chair of the Certified in Healthcare Privacy Exam Construction Committee. He is also a member of the Health Information Management and Systems Society and serves on the privacy and security, research, and EHR accreditation task forces. In addition to these activities, Mr. Olenik has been a speaker at various conventions and educational seminars on HIPAA, project management, HIM functions, and electronic health records.
