TikiMac Halts Sale of Devil Duck Drive; Announces Upgrade-A-Duck program
TikiMac, LLC. announced today that it is halting sales of its Devil Duck Flash Drives, due to unforseen issues relating to the quality of the rubber duck shell used in the drive's manufacturing. As an alternative, the company is offering an Upgrade-A-Duck program for customers interested in similar functionality.
Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 23, 2004 -- It's a strange day when a rubber duck affects a technology company, but that's just what happened. TikiMac, LLC. announced today that it is halting production of its Devil Duck Flash Drives, due to unexpected issues relating to quality of the rubber duck's "shell" used in the drive's manufacturing.
Roby Sherman, a Principal for TikiMac stated: "Given our commitment to product quality, we've had to throw away or hand-repaint a great deal of rubber duck bodies. That costs us money and unnecessarily inflates the product cost for our customers. It's just not right."
Mr. Sheman went on to say, "We contacted the duck manufacturer to see how we could work together to correct these issues but have been unable to resolve them thus far. Since they also own the copyright for the duck product itself, this leaves us in a precarious situation."
Effective today, TikiMac will stop taking new orders for Devil Duckie Drives while it examines additional manufacturing options. In the meantime, TikiMac is offering an "Upgrade-A-Duck" service where end-users can obtain their own rubber duckie shells and have them transformed into a similar flash drive. Further details are posted on the TikiMac web site.
Technical support and warranty repairs for Devil Duckie Drives remain unchanged and will continue to be fully supported by TikiMac.
