(PRWEB) April 23, 2004 -- Phillip Blount and Associates, Inc., an Atlanta area based consulting firm, was selected to prepare, report and present findings on the national 2004 CEO Compensation & Benefits Survey for the American Association of Community Colleges headquartered in Washington, D.C. This survey, designed to obtain and report information about community college CEO salaries and compensation packages, was collected during the month of March 2004 and the findings will be presented April 24th at the Annual Convention of the American Association of Community Colleges in Minneapolis, Minnesota. President Bush is scheduled to attend part of the conference and address this group of educational leaders on April 26th.

Georgia member colleges include all technical colleges like those found in Gwinnett, Dekalb, Gainesville and Athens. This group also includes schools that offer 2-year degrees that are part of a larger college network such as Georgia Perimeter. There are 1400 educational institutions around the country with an enrollment of 10.4 million students.

Phillip Blount and Associates resulting data will be beneficial to top community college board members and executives within the community college network who are looking to hire or renegotiate their current contract to attract top caliber leaders.

Fortunately, colleges can help themselves and other employers in their communities by learning to successfully attract, develop and retain peak-performing employees. It is people and their collective ability to produce that determine the success of any organization." Said Phillip Blount.

With the continued use of technology and companies needing skilled employees, community colleges are increasingly looked to as the solution providers for the labor force. 65% of new healthcare workers get their training at community colleges and more than 80% of community college students hold full or part-time jobs. The average student age is 29. These students represent not only first time hires but also workforce members who are caught in the wake of economic shifts and those seeking new opportunities in the work place.

Nationally, Senator Bob Graham and Senator Hillary Clinton are co-sponsoring a bill aimed to increase the availability of financial aid to non-traditional students - such as students 25 or older that work full-time and attend school part time. The bill is designed to increase availability of financial aid, such as Pell Grants, to those students who cannot attend college on a traditional schedule.

A well-understood, well drafted contract between the community college president and the college can be the foundation of a solid and productive relationship that will benefit the students, faculty and the community the college serves." Said Beverly Morse, VP of Phillip Blount & Associates.
