Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 23, 2004 -- Singer/Songwriter and Pianist Michael Mangia released his second album, 'The Invisible Wall, today on Eat an Apple Records. A concept album for todays world, it takes listeners through the lives of addicted porn stars, childrens sci-fi books, an Italian boys fathers death, the façade filled world of Hollywood, and the effects of TV on society.

The story of a painter, the album takes listeners through his canvas filled with addicted porn stars, Marlboro men, and fading Hollywood movie stars. Its an exploration of facets of oneself you can with to look at or not" says Mangia. Unlike most concept albums, each song stands on its own and is not weighed down by its lofty aspirations.

Following up his debut, 'Utopia, Mangia, whos music has been likened to other gifted storytellers such as Tori Amos, Ben Folds, and Rufus Wainwright, decided to take a new approach by producing this album himself. I had to play around with a different sonic palate than what I was used to. I brought in some really amazing players, and used a lot more layered guitars which opened up more doors" says Mangia.

After several years on the Los Angeles open mic and coffeehouse scene Michael is starting to reap the benefits of his hard work. He will be performing several shows in New York City early in the summer and is looking to build on the momentum with the release of 'The Invisible Wall. What I hope to get across is the beauty of that art form called expressionism. Sort of like a good read in a good book, youre sad when the last page folds over."
