Log Home Manufacturer Earns EPA's Energy Star® Rating

Alta Log Homes announced today that it has joined a nationwide effort to help the environment through participation in the ENERGY STAR program. This voluntary partnership sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) helps homebuyers, businesses, and other organizations save money and reduce air pollution by upgrading their homes to use energy more efficiently. Alta Log Homes has joined EPA and more than 2,400 builders, manufacturers, and retailers throughout the United States to help reduce pollution by building more efficient products. To date, Alta Log Homes has built eight ENERGY STAR labeled homes, and anticipate constructing 35 more in the coming year in the state of New York.

Halcottsville, NY (PRWEB) November 17, 2004 -- You must be familiar with seeing Energy Star® ratings on appliances you purchase, but would you think of looking for it when you purchase a home? How about if its a log home you are buying?

While it is becoming common to find the Energy Star® rating on many new homes, only one solid log home company, Alta Log Homes of Halcottsville, NY, has been awarded the Energy Star® rating - the most trusted national symbol for energy efficiency in the new home industry. Energy Star® qualified homes are independently verified to be at least 30% more energy efficient than homes built to the 1993 national Model Energy Code or 15% more efficient than state energy code, whichever is more rigorous. This translates into guaranteed energy savings for the consumer.

Energy Star® is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. Energy Star® qualified new homes achieve their energy savings through a variety of reliable and established technologies and building practices. However, the Energy Star® label means more than an energy efficiency certification; its a partnership among government organizations, businesses, and consumers alike, united in the pursuit of one common goal -- to protect our environment for future generations.

Its great to see a member company take their business to a new level," says Dave Kaufman, Executive Director of the Log Home/Building Systems Council, they are demonstrating that their product means more to them than just sales."

With this Energy Star® rating, Alta Log Homes, a leader in the log home industry since 1971, has joined the ranks of more than 2,400 builders, manufacturers, and retailers throughout the United States dedicated to helping reduce pollution by building more energy efficient homes.

David Mann, President of Alta Log Homes says, Its an honor to be the first company in our industry to get this rating. It shows our customers how energy efficient our homes really are, which in turn saves them a great deal of money in heating and cooling costs."
