(PRWEB) April 17, 2005 -- Yes, another religious" book. But wait, this one is very different. There is most probably nothing on-line, or on the shelf, that comes within hailing distance of this very controversial book.
Most religious books set out to woo the reader with many widely and generally acceptable views and doctrines. Why offend the reader when they may refer the book to a friend? This has not been the driving force behind Jock Duncan, who has written down forty plus years experience as a Full Gospel Preacher, so that the Truth of the Scriptures might be finally told.
Most of modern Christianity has slipped into the comfy zone. It is widely accepted that to push the scriptures too hard, will only turn people off. So many churches preach a non-offensive doctrine. Subjects, such as the importance of Repentance; Water Baptism and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, are avoided. Speaking in Tongues" is an absolute no-no. This book majors on Gods Word, rather than on widely accepted terms such as Repeat the Sinners Prayer" or Give your heart to Jesus" or Accept Jesus as your personal Savior" or Make a decision for Christ". These terms are very popular, but Jock Duncan points out that one cannot find them in the Scriptures!
The book is wide ranging in its scope. It covers Creation versus Evolution (was Adam the first man and where did Cain find a wife?); The Great Flood (was the whole earth flooded and how did Noah fit all the animals into the Ark?); Locating the Twelve Tribes of Israel (where did the Stone of Destiny come from and is there a family connection between Prince William and King David?); The Great Pyramid and the Aswan Dam in Egypt (are they mentioned in the Bible and who cares if they are?); Details of the First and Second Coming of Jesus (how did Jesus come from three separate places mentioned in the Old Testament and is the Rapture for real?); The Last Days (what evidence is there that we are living in the End Times and what significance does the last 100 hundred years have in Bible Prophecy?); Christian Dating (how did Jock find a wife and what were the conditions?); Bible Numerics (is there a wonderful, numeric pattern throughout the Bible and does it prove Divine Authorship?); Sign, Wonders and Miracles (does God still heal the sick and can we expect Signs Following" today?); Jesus (does the Jesus", that we have described today from the average pulpit, match the Jesus of the Bible and how do we prove that we love Him?); Salvation (how can we know that we are really saved and what about people who report they saw a white light" at the point of death?); Heaven and Hell (when do we go to heaven and is there such a place as Everlasting Damnation"?); Living in the Lord (what sort of life should we live as a Christian and does God accept modern standards of Society?); Tithing and Fasting (should Christians give a tenth and do people really fast in these modern times?); Evangelism (should our Christianity be a private experience and does Mark 16:15 still apply?); Conflict (what do we do with the Bible when it disagrees with modern Christianity and are the teachings of your local denomination important to God?); Lasting Stories (can we experience everything the Early Church records and how important is your testimony?); The End (is Armageddon for real and what is yet to happen on Planet Earth?). And that is just the beginning!
The book is in an e-book format and can be down-loaded. (www.thegoddrivenchurch.com) for quick and easy access. It costs less than many CDs ($29.00 US) and going on the testimonials of those that have already read the book, it is well worth the money.
But it is not your average Christian type book. Expect very different views from those widely held in Christianity. It is a wonderful study though of Christianity as it should occur. You must approach this book with an open mind, or you may be constantly frustrated with views that differ from the norm. There is one thing that shines through in this book and that is Jock Duncans total trust in the Bible and that fundamental belief in the Word of God is alive and well.
Do you want something very different? Can you handle controversy? Do you enjoy discussing Christianity? Do you maybe have a need, such as a sickness? Could you or an acquaintance suffer from loneliness or depression? Then this book is a must. When you have read the book, you are invited to contact Jock Duncan by email (address found in the book) with any comments or questions. We highly recommend this book.
