Richmond, VA (PRWEB) February 14, 2006 -- Amy George, owner of Modern Atelier fragrances, has opened an online storefront at the popular indie handcrafts site, Etsy.com. She has created 30 fragrances to serve as scent accessories for modern living. These fragrances are packaged in a handsome, minimalist Italian glass bottle with silver sprayer and cap. Each fragrance retails for $15/ounce, but for a limited time, the price is $12.50 or 4 for $40.
Every aspect of what goes into the fragrance is handcrafted, from the blending and filling, to the attractive , hand-applied labels. In April, the company plans to release five signature scents, inspired by locations and neighborhoods in Richmond, Virginia. These scents include:
Kuba Kuba - inspired by the much-beloved Fan restaurant, this scent combines juicy island pineapple, fresh sugar cane, mint, rum, and of course, just a puff of sweet cigar smoke.
Grace and Mulberry - Fresh rain, blueberries, spring flowers, woodsmoke, moist earth. A fragrance that captures a place, and a moment in time.
Shockoe Bottom - A night out on the town. Orange Blossom, Fuzzy Navel, bourbon vanilla, leather, and more.
The Byrd -All the delicious scents of a movie palace. Buttery Popcorn, Chocolate-covered caramels, and an icy cold coke.
Ms. George is an alumni of Virginia Commonwealth University's Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. She has been creating handmade bath and body products since 2002, and has previously sold her products at Chop Suey Books' Bizarre Market. The line is available at www.modernatelier.etsy.com.
