Medford, NY (PRWEB) February 14, 2006 -- Veteran New York advertising executive Tom Score has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Coalition Against Child Abuse & Neglect (CCAN), a Garden City-based non-profit agency dedicated to child abuse prevention and child victim advocacy. Score, President of Medford-based KDJ Advertising, was also honored by CCAN with a “Distinguished Leadership Award 2005” at the seventh annual CCAN “Voice for All Children Gala” in October.
“I am deeply honored to have been recognized by CCAN at its annual gala and been elected to the CCAN board,” said Score. “As a parent and volunteer in children’s sports programs, I know the importance of giving children the kind of childhood that will serve as the foundation for a happy, productive life. I look forward to working with CCAN and helping the agency achieve its goal of ensuring that all children enjoy the safe, secure childhood they deserve.”
While accepting the Distinguished Leadership Award at the Voice for All Children Gala on October 21, 2005, Score announced that KDJ Advertising has established an annual $1,000 education scholarship, which will be awarded through CCAN.

Founded in 1979, CCAN is a center for child abuse prevention and child victim advocacy. It is dedicated to protecting children against abuse and neglect with compassionate support and innovative, professional programs and services that include intervention, education, training, and advocacy. Based in Garden City, CCAN serves children of all ages throughout Long Island.
