Summer Camps - Orange County IDOL Singing/Performing Summer Camp

The Performer's Academy launches O.C. Idol Pop Singing and Performing Camp - staffed by professional voice coaches and choreographers.

(PRWEB) March 16, 2006 --Does your child stand in your living room singing into a hairbrush, pretending it's a mic? Have you spent hours in your car singing along to Hillary Duff or Brittney Spears or N'Sync?

OC Idol Summer camp will give children of all ages the opportunity to work with vocal coaches, sing songs appropriate for their voice range and style, put together singing groups, solo acts or ensembles. Match that with the hippest choreographers who will show them how to move, perform and choreograph an entire routine to and perform it live for family and friends.

Camp is weekly. Early drop off is 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00. There is extended care if you need it. Campers will have available an early breakfast of muffins, bagels and juice.

Then the fun begins. Starting with warm up games and fun improvs to get the creative juices flowing. Then the performers will work with vocal coaches, choreographers, and stylists and put together - in one week a variety show to be seen by parents and family members.

Camp will be video taped and each camper will be given a DVD of the week to take home as a keepsake.

"Our camps have always been a blast" says Natalie Costa, President of The Performer's Academy. "Last year we had children repeating camp week after week. We had two boys that stayed the entire summer who were visiting from Dubai. This year we have a family from Australia coming and another from England."

Summer camp runs week by week - The cost is $250 per week with a 10% sibling discount. There is also a $50 discount for full month enrollment.

Starting dates are
June 19-23 and continue throughout the summer until week 10 (August 21 to August 25th).

Enrollment forms are on line at www.performersacademy.net . Click on Summer Camp icon on main page.

Acting Coach, Brent Huff, also an established film director is currently directing “Welcome to Paradise”, starring Crystal Bernard (“Wings”), Brian Dennehy, Nick Searcy, and heartthrob Bobby Edner (“Spykids 3-D).

The Performer’s Academy students and parents participated in the filming of “Welcome to Paradise” in a tremendous way. All background work throughout the film featured students and their parents from the academy.

“The production hosted the most amazing and professional people you can imagine” says Costa. “The students got to experience what only those working in the business can. Everyone from actors, to producers, to production staff made this experience the most memorable ever. “ This movie has a few weeks left of filming and then a private screening for the students and their family and friends will be held in Orange County.
