Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) December 13, 2006 -- Recognizing that more than three million people with limited income and resources have not yet applied for the Medicare Part D prescription plan, My Medicare Matters announced its donation of technology to community organizations located within the top 100 counties where Center for Medicare Services (CMS) estimates that the remaining Medicare beneficiaries with limited resources reside. In addition, My Medicare Matters has updated its award-winning Web site, Medicare Part D and to make informed decisions about Medicare prescription drug coverage. By these efforts the organization, sponsored by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and supported by a grant from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, demonstrates its dedication to enabling eligible seniors to gain access to the critical information they need to maintain their health.

"Like the National Council on Aging, we share a concern that the most needy are not enrolled in Part D, so we are committed to this new effort to reach those individuals" said Roger Hyde, Vice President, Managed Markets, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP. "This ongoing initiative, coupled with our own patient assistance programs, is part of AstraZeneca's overall goal to address affordability and access issues."
