(PRWEB) February 22, 2007 -- A seditious comedy about women and aging by Storyteller/Performance Artist Judith Black opens this week at the Caldwell Theater in Boca Raton, FL. 7873 N. Federal Highway (Levitz Plaza) Boca Raton, FL. If you are looking for an intelligent and politically savvy version of Menopause the Musical, this is a show you must not miss. Black, the winner of storytelling's most coveted award The Oracle Circle of Excellence, has created a new show that explores women's aging. From ranting about our culture's expectation that women remain 'Sexy at 60,' to exploring the hidden obsessions of Snow White's Mother, and finally creating new super heroines for women to hang their futures on, this show will entertain, disturb, and exhilarate you.

Black first considered this break out material when at 50 she went to her doctor with a complaint of low energy:

"He nodded sagely, said he knew my problem, and offered a solution.
'A solution? Don't I have some peculiar jungle disease?'
Holding his kind, even, professional tone, he assured me 'No, you're depressed. Let me give you something for it.'
'Wait' I parried 'If i'm depressed wouldn't it be better to figure out why, and smoke the sneaky bugger out at it's source?'
Smiling he came back, "No, all women your age go through this. Just let me prescribe something for you."
'Good gracious i yelled, drugs are for back sprains, not maintenance!'
Well I prescribed a new medical practitioner for myself and wrote this little love letter of an entertainment for all women who, as Sigmund Freud would say, "are reaching beyond their genital function." There's is still a lot of wonderful life to be had, and this new comedy explores it."

Performances are on Monday Feb. 26, at 2 and 8 PM. For more info. call (561) 241-7432 For information about Ms Black's work: www.storiesalive.com
