Virtual World HABBO Launches New Multiplayer Online Game "SNOWSTORM"

Sulake Corporation, parent company of HABBO, one of the world's largest and most popular online destinations for teens, announced today it has launched SnowStorm, a new, fast paced game within the community.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2007 -- Sulake Corporation, parent company of HABBO, one of the world's largest and most popular online destinations for teens, announced today it has launched SnowStorm, a new, fast paced game within the community. SnowStorm is a fun, virtual version of the traditional outdoor snow war game, in which users compete against each other by throwing snowballs and dodging the attacks of other gamers. The game is being launched in all 29 Habbo communities around the world. Habbo communities receive over 7.5 million unique visitors monthly, with the highly-trafficked North American sites receiving over 2 million.

The core goal in SnowStorm is: pelt or get pelted! Habbo members will compete against one another by making snowballs and hitting competitors to score points. One SnowStorm round can be played either by 2 to 4 teams at a time, with all players competing against each other. The players are provided with a variety of playing environments, and progress from one skill level to another when gaining more points and experience in the game.

Piloted at the end of 2006, the game has already proven its popularity. "We're really excited to introduce this all-new, thrilling multiplayer game to Habbo members," said Teemu Huuhtanen, President, North America. "SnowStorm is a really funny and addictive game, and we're sure that our community members will love it!"

During the launch phase there will be a variety of activities in the community. The members are offered free gaming events, free tournament weekends and free gaming days. Users are also provided with a range of new, snow-style stickers and gadgets for their Habbo Home pages, as well as snow-themed furniture for their rooms in the virtual world.
