San Francisco Arrives in Shakespeare Land, in Seven Audios

San-Francisco-based Firefallmedia joins the British Listening Zone's list of publishers available in MP3

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) October 24, 2007 -- Firefallmedia's most popular audio books are now available for digital download as MP3s, under the imprint Firefall Originals, at The Listening Zone website originating in Leamington Spa, England.

Firefall Original titles include Russian Hill storm year, Blue Turtle Moon Queen (the first in the Water Children-tm series), Greenlings, Don't Drink the Eye Drops Dream Rider, Mysterious Mr. Blot in which we discover him, Melika and the Magic Leaf, and California Street: San Francisco adventures and some that only began here. Each story is read by its author, Pere Butter, Redland Rose, Jon D'Arc and Elihu Blotnick, respectively.

The stories tend toward a Realism rich with metaphor and with a San Francisco neighborhood focus, Indeed, the seven books range the city landscape, from the top of Russian Hill, to the length of California Street, to the grassy embankment of the Marina Green, to the underground tunnels in the outer avenues. Many of the characters grow from their landscape. Each is unique.

Russian Hill storm year, for example, is described by its author in his soft deep voice: "The view outward opens each mind to itself, then the hill becomes an ark of inward exploration." The audiobook indeed is a gift of place, mood and vision for a cold wet night.

California Street (rediscovered readings of seminal stories) has been reviewed as "fascinating and frightening" by the Pacific Historian and also includes a narrative on the London Film Festival.

Don't Drink the Eye Drops, Dream Rider (a procedural romance) was highly recommended by Publisher's Weekly as "jolting...a swift, quirky tale". In this audio novel, Aaron Rhyder, son of a famous photographer, leads a failed life in the shadows, until a sudden strange fogging in his sight sends him to Dr. Alisa Grey, who lovingly injects visions into his eye with a platinum needle.

The digital deal was signed by Robinson Joyce, producer and president of Firefallmedia, and Lindsay Fairgrieve, herself a reader and author, and president of Rickshaw Productions, owner of The Listening Zone website, headquartered in Leamington Spa, England.

Leamington, on the River Leam of course, is in the Midlands - about two hours north of London, in Shakespeare's county of Warwickshire, and almost dead center to England, but The Listening Zone's reach and its download list are quite international. With a digital web-centric orientation, and an expanding list of European and U.S. publishers, The Listening Zone is the newest place to find unique and original audio thrills, as well as BBC and Random House UK regulars.

Physical distribution of Firefallmedia's books and CDs in the U.K. is still being handled from the U.S. The digital downloads though have the advantage of the extra dimension of voice and a 20 to 30% discount from the in-print book price.
