Deathmask Lives to Release Wonderful -- The Happiest Band in the Whole USA Rocks Fontana's Friday March 7, 2008

Deathmask to release newest CD Wonderful. The ecstatic, non metallic rock band will perform along with DJ Dawn, the ladies of Choreokay, and Jersey fresh rockers the Horny Worms Friday, March 7. Wonderful has all of the heart and heat of deathmask's last CD Evil Doers, but it adds a little more lift; the band promises that listeners will "dance right into the light."

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 2, 2008 -- What's more wonderful than a party with cupcakes, dancing girls and over-sexed invertebrates? It could only be deathmask's new CD Wonderful, which will be released this Friday at Fontana's (105 Eldridge Street between Broome and Grand). The ecstatic, non-metallic rock band will perform along with DJ Dawn, the ladies of Choreokay, and Jersey fresh rockers the Horny Worms.

Wonderful has all of the heart and heat of deathmask's last CD Evil Doers, but it adds a little more lift; the band promises that listeners will "dance right into the light." While serenades such as "Carl Pavano 2: I'll see you in heaven" and "Carl Pavano 3: I'll see you in heaven" imagine a happy-ever afterlife with the Yankees' hard luck pitcher, most of the songs' stories are told from multiple points of view -- dialogues between unlikely lovers, fighters and strangers.

Hand made, silk screened t-shirts and trousers will also be released at the March 7 party. "And did somebody say cupcakes?" asks lyricist and vocalist Katy Cunningham. "Everyone gets a wonderful homemade cupcake and a copy of the CD for the $10 cover, while supplies last." The event kicks off at 9 p.m.

Deathmask has been rocking the northeast since 2001. At home in NYC they have played The Knitting Factory, Arlene's Grocery and the legendary Continental during its last week in the live music business. Last summer, they rocked new fans on their Road To Wonderful Tour from Georgia's Willow Oak Festival all the way to The Elbo Room in Chicago.

Out Of Breath, by Viewer Discretion Films, featuring Deathmask's "Boat," was the winner of Best Musical Score in the 2006 New York City 48 Hour Film Festival. Their music was also selected for inclusion on the Original Sessions Buzz Band Search Volume 3 compilation.

Deathmask is already hard at work on even newer songs, well-prepared to rock its beloved following into the next century. Jeremy Grand of Perpetual Toxins Magazine says that deathmask will drag, "the music world out of the grave and into the ballroom."
