New York, New York (PRWEB) April 5, 2008 -- On Saturday, April 12, 2008, one of New Jersey's favorite rhythm & blues singers, Bruce Antonio Clough, brings his powerful, unique vocal stylizations to Don't Tell Mama with the musical revue "Sweet Soul Music", a tribute to such R&B greats as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Smokey Robinson.

Mr. Clough, a veteran performer and multiple award-winning entertainer, is noted for his raw honesty on stage. His dynamic singing style, born in Philadelphia and rooted during his days in New Orleans, has made him a favorite on the New Jersey jazz scene. Since 2005, his distinctive and popular cabaret shows, B-B-B-BAD!, Two B-B-B-BAD, Fillet of Soul, and Beauty & The Bruce, have gained him an enthusiastic following.

Terence Adams of the New Orleans Times-Picayune wrote that "Bruce uses his considerable range with amazing precision, [making] believable frequent shifts of emotions from fury to laughter to tears." Stuart Duncan of New Jersey's Time Out Magazine echoed: "Bruce is perfect! [He] supplies excellent timing and a devastating delivery." "If you want to learn how to deliver a song," advised WBCB Radio's Anita Donovan, "watch Bruce Antonio Clough."

Performing with Mr. Clough will be drummer extraordinaire, Chris Saia, pianist/vocalist Wade Newbern and vocalist Meryl Newbern, who together make up the NY-based jazz duo Newbern & Co. This artistic collaboration is a must-see for those who, as Arthur Conley sang in the title song, "like good music, that sweet soul music."

Don't Tell Mama, one of New York City's premier cabaret venues, is located at 343 West 46th Street, New York, NY. Reservations for "Sweet Soul Music" can be made by calling 212-757-0788. Show begins at 7:30pm. There is a $15 cover charge and 2-drink minimum for the show. Reservations are recommended.
