Jackson, MI (PRWEB) April 26, 2008 -- HolidayLEDS.com, an e-commerce retailer specializing in energy-efficient LED decorative lighting, announced today that it will donate $1000 to a non-profit organization focused on environmental issues. The charitable organization will be selected by a popular vote to be conducted on the HolidayLEDs.com website. Any 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the United States is eligible.
"We had a very successful Earth Day event, gave away 100 sets of icicle lights, but after talking it over we decided to give something back to one of the organizations that work hard all year long to pursue critical environmental issues," said Philip C. Curtis, President of HolidayLEDs.com. HolidayLEDs.com is currently soliciting suggestions for qualifying non-profit organizations to place on a ballot. Any non-profit organization based in the United States whose mission is related to the fight against global warming, sustainable living, or other environmental issues qualifies to be placed on the ballot. "We wanted to allow the people who are most involved in these groups and issues to help us decide how to make our donation," Curtis added.
All suggestions can be submitted to HolidayLEDs.com using its website using the contact form. All submissions should include the official name of the organization, website address, and a brief statement about the organization. Suggestions will be accepted through May 8, 2008. Upon closing of the solicitation period, HolidayLEDs.com will create a ballot listing all the organizations which were submitted and which met the minimum qualifications. HolidayLEDs.com will then conduct a vote on its website to determine which organization shall receive the donation. Any registered user will entitled to one vote. The vote will be conducted over a period of 1 week and the voting period will be announced after the closing of the solicitation period. The organization chosen by the users will received a cash donation of $1000 from HolidayLEDs.com by December 31, 2008.
