Prince George's County leaders Sponsor Second Economic Outlook Forum A communtywide dialogue on the economic vitality and future direction of the county

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC), in collaboration with the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and Prince George's County Government presents Envision Prince George's County, a one-day Economic Outlook Forum. The Forum will feature insights from elected officials, a panel discussion on quality of life and economic factors affecting the county's future, and presentations about opportunities to enhance the county's regional and national niche.

Upper Marlboro, MD (Vocus/PRWEB ) September 10, 2008 -- On Friday, October 3, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Prince George's County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), along with the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Prince George's County government, will hold a one-day economic outlook forum called "Envision Prince George's". Several hundred residents, students, business and community leaders are expected to join together at this forum and participate in helping shape a community-wide dialogue on the future direction of the County. The one-day event will take place at the University of Maryland University College Inn and Conference Center in Adelphi, Maryland.

News ImageThe event will feature keynote addresses by nationally recognized government and business leaders, including: US Representative Steny Hoyer; Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown; regional economic expert, Dr. Stephen Fuller, Director of the Center for Regional Analysis and professor of public policy at George Mason University; and thought leader and best selling author, Richard Florida, professor of Business and Creativity at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and author of "The Rise of the Creative Class".

Other conference events include presentations on Prince George's County's economic position and progress by county officials - including County Executive Jack B. Johnson and Council Chairman Samuel Dean - and panel discussions by local business and community leaders and entrepreneurs on issues such as advancing education and technology development; capitalizing on geographic location; attracting, developing and retaining workforce talent; and emphasizing cultural diversity. Cost for the event is $25 per person, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, reception, and conference materials.
