Brian Vander Ark Reveals Latest Music Video

You'll Be The Death Of Me, Directed by Kevin Carrico, to Premiere September 26 at The Magic Bag.

Ferndale, MI (PRWEB) September 22, 2008 -- Singer/songwriter Brian Vander Ark will mark his September 26 performance at The Magic Bag with the debut of the music video for You'll Be The Death Of Me, a reflective yet upbeat track from his latest album, Brian Vander Ark, released earlier this year. Vander Ark, the former front man of The Verve Pipe who now tours regularly with and without full-band backup, chose the metro Detroit venue to premiere the video in deference to his occasional collaborator, director/DP Kevin Carrico.

Carrico, of Royal Oak, also shot and directed the video for Survival, an exuberant and carefree cut from Vander Ark's critically acclaimed 2006 release, Angel Put Your Face On. The two first worked together in 2005 on the set of Dominic Blue, Carrico's indie sci-fi feature in which Vander Ark stars as a 22nd-century rocker who uses music to free oppressed people. Both Carrico and Vander Ark bring journeyman skills and a solid, mid-western work ethic to their respective projects, but when combined, produce an understated synergy. "Brian and Kevin have a pretty unique working relationship going." says Chris Messina, producer of both music videos. "It's a little bit spontaneous and a little bit sarcastic--but the results are authentic and always impressive."

No stranger to the music scene, Carrico has directed music videos for international artists including The White Stripes and Anita Baker, as well as for national and local acts such as Robb Roy, Blanche and Stewart Francke. The veteran director's commercial and industrial works have featured recording industry giants Peter Frampton, Rod Stewart, Lou Gramm and Nick Lachey, among others.

Vander Ark (www.brianvanderark.com) has inked a deal with Second Motion Records to distribute his three solo albums, and is currently touring in support of his 2008 self-titled release. Carrico (www.kevincarrico.com) most recently shot and edited a comedy series pilot in Los Angeles, directed by Mad TV star and Southfield native Keegan Michael Key.

Brian Vander Ark's headliner gig at The Magic Bag, presented by SPIN magazine and WDET 101.9 FM, also features Jamie McCarthy, son of Detroit broadcasting legend J.P. McCarthy, along with Crashing Cairo. Doors open at 8 p.m.
