VetFriends.com Carries the Spirit of Veterans Day All Year Long

VetFriends.com would like to wish all U.S. veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard a wonderful Veterans Day full of pride, honor and tradition.VetFriends.com is here to support and honor all veterans and military personnel each and every day.

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 -- VetFriends.com - the largest Web site for reuniting U.S. veterans, active and reserve military, family and friends - offers the information, tools and resources needed to help support and bring veterans together. At VetFriends.com, it's Veterans Day all year long.

VetFriends.com currently has over 900,000 members nationwide, attracting over 150,000 visitors per month to the Web site. With the powerful notion of "reuniting" in mind, VetFriends.com offers services such as: search the database to make contact with old friends, search and set up reunions, search military units, message boards, post photos and share military jokes, obtain information on how to receive medals and military records, find military merchandise and more.

After reuniting with a friend through VetFriends.com, U.S. veteran L. Prickett writes, "It was a wonderful moment that we will both remember for the rest of our lives, and we owe it to VetFriends.com. Thanks for making it possible."

In addition, the Veterans Business Directory at www.vetfriends.com/business allows users to search a free, online directory to find services and products offered by veterans both locally and nationwide. Visitors can browse by city, state and specific category of interest, ranging from plumbers to realtors to security experts and information technology, through hundreds of categories. Listings provide a company description and full contact information including phone, fax, address, web address, e-mail and more. VetFriends.com encourages people to support veterans in a new way - do business with them.

Founded by a U.S. veteran in support of U.S. veterans.
In 2000, the idea of an easy-to-use, online veteran registry came to its founder, Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm, Dale F. Sutcliffe, during a conversation with his father-in-law who had served during the Korean War. When asked whether he would attend a hypothetical reunion with his old Army unit, his father-in-law responded, "I'd be on the next plane to Korea to see those guys." Reflecting on the depth of this reply, Sutcliffe realized those special bonds often withstand the test of time precisely because of the unique and often difficult circumstances under which they were formed. Now, those bonds can be reestablished through modern technology.

This Veterans Day and all year long, VetFriends.com supports and thanks veterans, active and reserve military for their service to our country and will continue to be a valuable tool bringing people together sharing memories, laughs and tradition.

Founded in 2000 by Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm, Dale F. Sutcliffe, thousands of people have been reconnected through VetFriends.com, spanning from World War II through to Operation Desert Storm and the present. VetFriends.com has a current member count of over 900,000 people with 150,000 visitors per month to the site. Please visit www.vetfriends.com for more information.
