New York City, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 -- A new clothing and dance wear line designed by two dancers who longed for comfortable and colorful clothing for their tall frames launched today at www.joandjax.com. Designed for both girls and women, Jo+Jax features comfortable and colorful items such as dance unitards in both long sleeve and tank, tri-tops, booty shorts, t-shirts, sport shorts and sweat suits, with more styles and sizes due shortly.
Joey Dowling, assistant choreographer for Broadway's "In the Heights," and her sister, Jackie Ford, a choreographer and teacher at the Broadway Dance Center and Steps in New York City, credit their initial "one of a kind" clothing with helping them land roles as Rockettes a few years back.
"As we entered the dance world, we quickly learned that sometimes your talent isn't enough to get you noticed," Dowling said. "As you can imagine, many of the ladies we were surrounded with as Rockettes, as well as the students we now teach, need comfortable clothing that not only enables them to move but also helps them stand out in auditions or elsewhere. That's why we've combined bold and courageous colors with innovative designs that little girls to professional dancers or anyone else on the move can enjoy."

About Jo&Jax:
Joey Dowling and Jackie Ford, dancers and choreographers based in New York City, were so particular about cut and fabric in their dance wear that they took matters into their own hands. They began designing their own clothing several years ago, initially having it sewn by the seamstress at their mother's dance studio in Utah. They then began making clothing for fellow Rockettes, who also had difficulty finding dance wear that that fit properly. In the years since, they have taught dance to children and adults across the United States, and noticed the need for great dance clothes for their students as well as their peers. Jo+Jax was born, clothing that combines Dowling's bold and outgoing personality with Ford's consistent and focused approach. For more information, visit www.joandjax.com.
