Stalker's CAN / VSS Adaptor Yields VSS Advantages without VSS Installation Problems

Plano, TX (Vocus/PRWEB ) December 24, 2008 -- Stalker Radar's new CAN / VSS Adapter delivers VSS advantages without VSS installation problems.

Connecting your Stalker Radar CAN / VSS Adaptor to your vehicle's OBDII Diagnostic Port is a simple, three-step process.
Connecting your Stalker Radar CAN / VSS Adaptor to your vehicle's OBDII Diagnostic Port is a simple, three-step process.

Traditionally, the VSS signal has been generated mechanically inside the patrol vehicle's transmission assembly. The VSS signal is then used to calculate vehicle's patrol speed and to switch between the radar's moving and stationary modes.

It's a challenge finding the vehicle's VSS signal circuit among the dozens of wires in the wiring harness because each vehicle's harness is different. Even the same make and model's wiring can vary from year to year.

Now, all that is required is locating the OBDII diagnostic connector, typically under the driver's side dash, connecting the Stalker CAN / VSS cable, then connecting the cable's other end directly into the Stalker Radar.

Moving the radar from one vehicle to another is simple. When the department upgrades vehicles, transferring the radar to the new vehicle is as simple as UNPLUG and PLUG using the OBDII connector.

Power and ground are also supplied through the CAN / VSS Adaptor connection. And you'll have all of the advantages of traditional VSS:

  • Shadowing is virtually eliminated.
  • Batching is virtually eliminated.
  • Low speed combing effects are virtually eliminated.
  • When stationary, Moving mode "false" patrol speed is eliminated.
  • Instantly acquires and tracks patrol speeds from 1-200 mph while switching in and out of hold.
  • Automatic Moving / Stationary switching.
  • Patrol speed variations produced by weather effects are dramatically reduced.
