Last year's premier event, sponsored by Warner Bros., honored alumni Josh Groban whose career has since catapulted, confirmed by such successes as best selling album of 2007 titled Noel. This year's event has drawn much attention from those anticipating the release of who is to be honored.

"The Los Angles County High School for the Arts has graduated a wealth of vast talent. We celebrate and honor those who not only have achieved significant success in their art, but also continually give back to the school and the alumni association," stated Kari Weis, President, Arts High Alumni Association. "We are pleased to announce this year's honorees and anticipate another brilliant event."

This year's honorees are alumnae: Josefina Lopez, playwright, whose successes include Real Woman Have Curves and McKenzie Westmore, actress, who portrays Sheridan Crane on the NBC hit show, "Passions". Also honored are distinguished community member, Bill Ratner, one of America's leading voice over professionals, and outstanding educators Jim Blackford (Ret.) and Vicki Silva, a twice recipient of the Presidential Arts Scholar Distinguished Teacher award. Both have a long and dedicated history of teaching at the school. Leonard Earl Howze will host as the Master of Ceremonies.

Arts High opened in 1985 and provides specialized instruction and training in dance, music, theatre and visual arts. The school is a California Distinguished School for academic excellence and a Golden Bell recipient for its outstanding visual arts program as well as a Bravo Award recipient for excellence in arts education.

The Arts High Alumni Association celebrates the encouragement and promotion of the success of Arts High, Arts High students, and Arts High alumni. Proceeds from this event will help ensure continued funding of scholarships for students and alumni from Arts High, as well as to help the alumni association support the school through grants that allow the high school to continue its quality education.

Those attending the second annual Hollywood Tribute Event will enjoy performances by alumnae (and American Idol contestants) Samantha Sidley and Amanda Avila as well as a few other surprises. Tickets price is $100.00 per person and includes dinner. Information can be found by visiting www.lachsaalumni.org or by calling: (323) 343 6365.
