Shamaine was raised in Houston to one of the city's most prominent jewelers. Her father opened cornerstone Michael Klein's Fine Jewelry in Houston in 1969 where Shamaine remembers talking to customers as she stood on tiptoes to look over the counter. Shamaine started Shamaine Klein Design in 2007.
