New York, NY -- Pearson Learning Solutions (PLS) today announced a partnership with Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) to create online, virtual world education and training environments for a range of academic, commercial, and government clients.

PLS will supply content, content development, and content licensing to support ECS's US-Nexus, which provides real-time, online virtual environments. Through interaction with avatars and realistic simulations, students throughout the world can take the same class simultaneously, walk around the classroom, see their instructors, and post private or public questions; first responders can plan for and face dangerous situations they might actually encounter; electricians can wire a house; nurses can hand instruments to doctors and become familiar with operating room procedures, to name but a few possible applications.
