JDF Distribution Purchases HighJump™ Software

JDF Distribution Solutions, a third-party logistics company with distribution centers in Dallas and Houston, Texas has purchased HighJump Software to support its growing warehousing and distribution operations. This major investment in supply chain execution software supports JDF Distribution's strategy to help consumer goods companies comply with retail distribution requirements. HighJump was selected after a competitive review of more than 20 warehouse management systems.

Coppell, Texas (PRWEB) March 26, 2009 -- JDF Distribution Solutions (http://www.jdfdistribution.com), a third-party logistics company with distribution centers in Dallas and Houston, has purchased HighJump Software to support its growing warehousing and distribution operations. JDF will leverage HighJump's solutions for warehouse management, slotting, billing management and voice recognition. HighJump was selected after a competitive review of more than 20 warehouse management systems.

"Customers want and expect their logistics services partner to have a robust, reliable systems platform," says JDF Distribution's Vice President of Sales, Jason Flood. "HighJump enables JDF to offer customers a leading-edge system for supply chain execution that is scalable to meet any future need."

According to Flood, customer benefits from the new system will include:

  • Enhanced productivity through more automated and intelligent storage and picking processes, including immediate implementation of voice-enabled picking
  • Fast, easy integration with popular ERP platforms, enabling immediate transmission of orders to the warehouse management system without the need for value-added networks (VANs)
  • Visibility to product anywhere along the supply chain for improved planning
  • Improved inventory accuracy

JDF currently operates 400,000 sq. ft. of distribution center space across 3 facilities. Its primary customers are mid-tier manufacturers that currently distribute to Walmart and other mass retailers, as well as firms that want to break into this channel but struggle to comply with the many distribution and systems-related requirements of retail distribution.

"One of the reasons companies seek out third-party logistics providers is that they don't want to invest capital in logistics systems," says Flood. "We see this recessionary period as an opportunity. At a time when our competitors are hunkering down, JDF is aggressively investing in our long-term strategy to help consumer goods companies meet the requirements for distribution to Walmart and other large retailers."

JDF Distribution provides Texas warehousing and transportation services from its Dallas warehouse and Houston warehouse. Founded in 1982, the company helps consumer goods manufacturers get products to market quickly, reliably, and at the lowest possible cost.
