County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services Extends Eligibility Verification Contract with Provider Advantage

Provider Advantage NW, Inc., a national provider of automated, integrated real-time revenue cycle solutions, announced today that the County of Los Angeles (County) Department of Health Services (DHS) has extended their Medi-Cal (Medicaid), Medicare, and insurance eligibility verification services contract with Provider Advantage.

Beaverton, OR (PRWEB) March 31, 2009 -- Provider Advantage NW, Inc., a national provider of automated, integrated real-time revenue cycle solutions, announced today that the County of Los Angeles (County) Department of Health Services (DHS) has extended their Medi-Cal (Medicaid), Medicare, and insurance eligibility verification services contract with Provider Advantage.

This agreement provides the County's hospitals and clinics with real-time eligibility verification services through March 31, 2014. The total value of the 5 year contract is $1.6 million.

The Revenue360® solution provides a robust platform for handling high volume real time electronic inquiries (ANSI 270) to health plans. Revenue360 Eligibility Verification module initiates real-time eligibility requests at the earliest point in the registration process. It provides a customized response from the health plan enabling the registration staff to review only the data needed to register the patient based on the County's business rules.

Fully integrated with their QuadraMed Affinity® Health Information System, this information can be viewed and acted upon by registration staff. These electronic queries efficiently provide definitive confirmation of a patient's eligibility for services at the point of service.

In addition, the County will continue to use the Revenue360 ReInquiry Module (RIM) to locate unknown and retroactive California Medi-Cal (Medicaid) coverage for their at-risk population. This service has provided a significant return by identifying patients with retroactive California Medi-Cal coverage allowing the County to collect additional funds.

Edward (Ted) Tomkins, President of Provider Advantage said, "We are pleased with the County's confidence in Revenue360 as a solution to help control the rising cost of providing healthcare. We look forward to continuing our close working relationship with the County's staff utilizing Revenue360 as a platform to quickly provide information from external sources when and where it is needed."

Larry Gatton, Chief Revenue Services, County, DHS, said, "Provider Advantage's Revenue360 Eligibility Verification and Revenue360 ReInquiry services are critical to the County's ability to identify, bill, and collect from third party payers."
