CitationShares Uses AvFinity To Meet APIS Requirements

Private jet industry leader CitationShares uses the AvFinity Secure Messaging Suite™ for meeting APIS requirements on its international flights. AvFinity has a direct connection into the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for APIS filings. The AvFinity patent-pending software technology provides customers with multiple connectivity options. CBP has authorized AvFinity as a pre-departure message provider for APIS Quick Query (AQQ) and batch submissions.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 13, 2009 -- CitationShares recently selected AvFinity® as a service provider for the company's Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) filings into U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CitationShares will use AvFinity's APIS Navigator™ to file passenger and crew manifests for international private jet flights in accordance with CBP's enhanced border security requirements.

AvFinity has a direct connection into the CBP database. CBP has authorized AvFinity as a pre-departure message provider for APIS Quick Query (AQQ) and APIS batch submissions.

APIS Navigator™, a unique service powered by AvFinity's patent-pending software technology, offers end-to-end integration into the CBP APIS database via the efficiency of web services, IBM WebSphere MQ, HTTP Post, an interactive web page and many other network protocols.

CitationShares chose the machine-to-machine efficiency of AvFinity's web services as its means of connectivity. CitationShares developed its own customized interface while AvFinity provided a seamless back-end integration into the CitationShares system to streamline the company's access to CBP communications.

Filing APIS submissions directly to the CBP database is more secure and efficient than filing them via email or through the legacy Type B network. The AvFinity Secure Messaging Suite™ (ASMS™) uses the highest levels of communications security. ASMS™ authenticates the data through cryptographic protocols including SSL.

The ASMS™ patent-pending software technology integrates with front- and back-end systems and can convert or transform data transmitted via its network from any format into the required UN/EDIFACT format. The APIS Navigator™ features include non-repudiation and confirmation to reduce the likelihood of human errors that can result in invalid, incorrect or incomplete APIS information and costly fines.

AvFinity users need no additional software or hardware purchases to benefit from AvFinity's services. These efficiencies allow AvFinity to offer both usage- or flat-priced packages, depending on the customer's preference.

"We look forward to working with AvFinity and its Secure Messaging Suite," said Dan Smith, vice president of flight management for CitationShares. "We believe this type of seamless end-to-end service helps aviation companies better meet the demands of security requirements like APIS."

About AvFinity®:
AvFinity's unique secure messaging services, powered by its patent-pending software technology, provide the first significant advance in aviation messaging in more than 50 years. AvFinity's technology manages, formats, and routes aviation messaging over all network protocols. A key feature is that airlines no longer have to rely solely on legacy Type B networks, as AvFinity transmits messages normally sent as Type B over AvFinity's secure network using IP (internet protocols). This feature is a major cost-saver for AvFinity's airline customers.
