Madison Media Institute Adds First Baccalaureate Degree Program in Entertainment and Media Business
Madison Media Institute will be offering an Entertainment and Media Business (EMB) baccalaureate program beginning in the Fall semester. This degree-completion program is only one of three in the nation. The15-month Bachelors Degree is a 2+2 program and assumes that all Associate-level requirements have been met through an earned Associates degree. This degree-completion program is only one of three in the nation. It is specifically designed to prepare students for the rapidly changing world of entertainment and media business. Upon completion of the program requirements, graduates will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Students in the program will complete 61 upper-division semester credits in four semesters. Courses include those in core business areas such as finance, accounting, and marketing along with entertainment or media-specific areas such as artist management and media promotion.
The EMB program is a blended-education program, which consists of a hybrid of online and on-campus courses. Each semester, students will participate in on-campus seminars that will apply lessons from the core business curriculum to the current state of the entertainment and media industry.
Target jobs for graduates of the EMB program include but are not limited to: Entertainment Venue Manager, A&R Representative, Promotion Specialist, Event Promoter, Studio Manager, Clearance Coordinator, Sales and Marketing Executives, Production Coordinator, Casting, Associate Producer, Publicity, Licensing, Tour Management, Publishing and Distribution.
