Edward Downs Named CEO of Renaissance Hospital Dallas
Renaissance Healthcare Systems announced today that Edward Downs has been named chief executive officer of Renaissance Hospital Dallas. The appointment was effective May 4, 2009.

Downs is an accomplished healthcare executive who comes to RHS Dallas from LifeCare Hospital of Dallas. As CEO of LifeCare, Downs worked closely with the medical staff to ensure coverage for all available specialties and to improve operational efficiencies during the past two years. Prior to joining LifeCare, Downs held CEO and COO positions at several hospitals, including Nexus Health Systems, Inc. in Houston, TX; and HealthSouth Hospital of Houston in Houston, TX; Before becoming a hospital CEO/Administrator, Downs was president of an e-Healthcare Consulting firm focused on regulatory inspections and start-ups.
Downs holds a bachelor of science degree in health care administration from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and a masters of business administrations from Our Lady of the Lake University in Houston, TX. In addition, Downs has a background in nursing, having been a licensed practical nurse at the outset of his career and following that up with an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing from Houston Community College.

The parent company of Renaissance Healthcare Systems is Louisiana Texas Healthcare Management, a regional for-profit healthcare investment group. LTHM acquired the Renaissance Hospitals in April 2009 from another management entity.
