Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 8, 2009 -- Exclusive tickets to Broadway shows, concerts, television show tapings and other theatrical and musical events will be auctioned off beginning May 8 to benefit the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the country's largest cross-disability membership organization, which assists people with disabilities.
'The Ticket that Rocks!' online charitable auction, which gives theater connoisseurs and concertgoers a chance to score tickets to amazing shows and support individuals with disabilities, approximately 54 million Americans, and their families at the same time, is hosted on eBay.
Tickets to rock legends Elton John and Billy Joel's Face2Face US Tour 2009; tickets to country music superstar Alan Jackson's 2009 tour; VIP tickets to ABC's Emmy-Award winning talk show, 'The View;' tickets to the Broadway musical 'The Wizard of Oz' and tickets to a taping of Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' are just some of the tickets the public can bid on to help further AAPD's mission to be a powerful voice for change - politically, economically, and socially.
'The Ticket that Rocks!' online charitable auction is the second auction held by AAPD. The first auction was held in March 2009, 'Bid for a Change,' and featured tickets to 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and an autographed book by Jamie Lee Curtis in addition to items from John Mayer, James Taylor, Margaret Cho, Shakira, Melina Kanakaredes, Natalie Merchant, Jay Leno, Carlos Bernard, Rockmond Dunbar, Norah Jones and Martha Stewart.
In addition to organizing the disability community, AAPD runs the national disability mentoring, voting, internship, employment, technology and faith programs and works to shape federal, state and local policy and legislation that affects the disability community.
