These schools won a districtwide competition sponsored by Relatrix Corporation for the largest number of hours worked per volunteer. District 11 uses Relatrix' EZVolunteer system to help it manage over 5,000 volunteers and keep track of the hours spent at the district's schools.

(PRWEB) May 14, 2009 -- Pike Elementary and Jenkins Middle schools in Colorado Springs School District 11 are being recognized for their outstanding volunteers. These schools won a districtwide competition sponsored by Relatrix Corporation for the largest number of hours worked per volunteer. Each school received a $250 award to use in support of their volunteer program. District 11 uses Relatrix' EZVolunteer system to help it manage over 5,000 volunteers and keep track of the hours spent at the district's schools.

"This friendly competition between our schools helped show what we already knew," said LouAnn Dekleva, director of Volunteer Services at District 11, "which is that we have the most dedicated parents and community members volunteering at our schools and making a big difference in the success of our students. EZVolunteer makes tracking volunteer hours across the district a breeze, and that helps us continue to improve the quality of our volunteer program."

EZVolunteer is a web-based volunteer management system that works with a school or district's website. Volunteers can register through the system, choose the schools and volunteer activities they are interested in, and select specific activities with which they want to help. School volunteer coordinators can schedule volunteer activities at their school and notify volunteers of upcoming events to get them involved. Administrators can keep track of background results on volunteers and report on volunteers and activities across their entire district.

"In the current economic climate, we wanted to work with customers to help find creative ways to get people excited about using our software and, at the same time, give something back to their communities," said Mark Franke, president of Relatrix. "This competition gave District 11 the opportunity to encourage their volunteers to work a little harder and keep track of their good work with EZVolunteer. This turned out to be a win-win-win for the two schools that received the award, District 11 and Relatrix."
