Texas Resort Becomes First To Launch New Social Station

The Woodlands Resort offers complimentary Social Station which allows guests to stay connected to Facebook and Twitter while they travel.

(PRWEB) June 10, 2009 -- The Woodlands Resort, located just 30-minutes north of Houston, has become the first Texas hotel - and perhaps the nation's only - to launch a complimentary Social Station which allows guests to stay connected to Facebook and Twitter while they travel.

Conveniently located in the resort's lobby, the Social Station is set up for immediate access to the popular social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.

Whether it's bragging about their best golf shot, sipping piña coladas poolside, or announcing the successful outcome of a business meeting, the resort expects both business and leisure guests to embrace this new amenity.

"There's a reason Facebook has over 200 million users. People want to know what everyone else is doing, and more importantly, want to share their own day-to-day experiences," says Kent Johnson, general manager of The Woodlands Resort.

Facebook reports that its fastest growing demographic is users aged 35 and older. "It's not just teens lounging by the pool who are making status updates and adding new tweets, but our business guests are doing the same," he adds. "We wanted to offer our guests an easy way to stay connected while they are away from home."
