Qponix Launches Multi-Retailer Version of Its Ultimate Shopping List

Combines Best of Weekly Deals and Recipe Sites to Give Shoppers More Flexibility in Building Grocery Shopping Lists

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 31, 2009 -- Qponix today unveiled a public beta of its service that gives people across the country a better way to build their grocery shopping lists. The service, which is called Qponix MealBox and is free to consumers, showcases over 100,000 hyper-local weekly specials from grocers, allowing people to track and compare offers from their neighborhood stores. Unlike other coupon and weekly specials sites, the Qponix MealBox ties those local grocery promotions to the ingredients of healthy recipes so that harried shoppers can quickly figure out what to cook with what's on sale, organize money-saving meal plans and automatically generate weekly shopping lists.

Qponix, which is working to roll out custom versions of its application to additional grocery retailers and publishers, wanted to show consumers and clients alike what its new service can do.

"Our aim is to let people build their lists how they want," said Corbin de Rubertis, President and Co-Founder of Qponix. "So, if you want to find out what's on sale and quickly put those things on your list, we are ideal for that. If you want new ideas for meals, we are there too. Or, if you want to get really serious about saving money, you can use Qponix MealBox to compare specials, find recipes with lots of ingredients on sale, build a weekly meal plan, and spit out your list. It's your list, your way."

Here are the elements of the new Qponix MealBox:

- Hyper-Local Specials. Qponix has partnered with MyGroceryDeals to get fresh, weekly deal content from grocers across the country.

- New Recipes. Qponix MealBox contains hundreds of recipes from EatingWell, the predominant developer of quick, delicious, healthier recipes.

- Quick Lists. New type-ahead features on the shopping list let shoppers build ad-hoc lists fast.

- Money-Saving Meal Planner Drag-and-drop meal planner gives shoppers convenient tools to organize meals and generate shopping lists.

- New Coupons. Qponix MealBox will soon have coupons as well as weekly specials; coupons too will be tied to recipe ingredients.

The Qponix MealBox is portable. Shoppers can register to use it for free at http://www.qponix.com. Or they can take the application with them and drop it on iGoogle pages or on blogs.

de Rubertis added that the portability is meant to dovetail with the application's flexibility, "Just as we want people to be able to have options when building their lists, we want people to be able to build that list where it is most convenient for them, either on our site or in another context." Qponix also has iPhone and Android versions of its multi-retailer offering in the works.

About Qponix

Twice a week, on average, people trundle down to the grocery store with a scribbled list and partial information. Qponix (http://www.qponix.com) set out to change that by giving shoppers the tools and information they need to save time and money - on a retailer's website, on recipe sites, on frugal shopping blogs, on iGoogle pages or on their phones. The company works with large grocery retailers and premier publishers.
