Kansas City Law Firm Commemorates 25th Anniversary

The firm has become one of the nation's most well-known and successful plaintiff's transportation law firms.

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) November 3, 2009 -- The Kansas City, Missouri law firm of Robb & Robb LLC is commemorating its 25th anniversary year this month. The firm has become one of the nation's most well-known and successful plaintiff's transportation law firms, with over $800 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of its clients. The firm was founded in 1984 by partners Gary C. Robb and Anita Porte Robb, both of whom worked for large defense firms after graduating Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School. They independently reached the conclusion that their hearts were with Plaintiff's causes, and began their Plaintiff's firm with only four cases. Over the past 25 years, their precedent setting cases have resulted in improved safety practices as well as record setting outcomes in cases across the country.

Their 25th anniversary year has been a busy one for the law firm. Highlights of the firm's outcomes this year have included a $7.2 million jury verdict in a wrongful death case relating to a movie filming in Des Moines, Iowa (Schlotzhauer v. The Final Season, et al, Law. No. CL 102824, Polk County, Iowa), and a $15 million settlement in a plane crash lawsuit in Chicago, Illinois ((Waugh v. Morgan Stanley, et al, Case No. 06 L 001410. Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, County Department, Law Division). In addition, the firm has been busy handling local high-profile cases, including a fatal school bus crash case which occurred outside Kansas City. "We have had our hands exceptionally full this year," says partner Anita Porte Robb.

During the firm's history, it has won the country's highest jury verdict for a single air crash death, in the amount of $350 million (Barnett v. La Societe Anonyme Turbomecca France, 963 S.W. 2d 939, Western District of Missouri Court of Appeals). It has also won an $18 million settlement against the World Wrestling Federation for the death of wrestler Owen Hart during a televised match and a $25 million jury verdict on behalf of a judge who died while inspecting a building. The firm also successfully represented former U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan in a case regarding a plane crash that killed her son and her husband, Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan.
