Piscataway, N.J. (PRWEB) November 1, 2009 -- District 17 GOP Assembly candidates Anthony Mazzola and Salim Nathoo received the Endorsement of the Home News Tribune in New Jersey on October 30, 2009.
District 17, consists of Franklin, Highland Park, Milltown, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, and Piscataway in the Middlesex and Somerset Counties in NJ.
The newspaper described the Democratic candidates Joseph Egan and Upendra Chivukula as "lawmakers which Trenton must rid itself". The newspaper further described Egan and Chivukula as WORST CHOICE in District 17.
Salim Nathoo and Anthony Mazzola were described by the editorial board of the Courier News Paper - a Gannett Newspaper as candidates who stick to the basic GOP principals preaching spending reductions and efficiencies. Like the Courier Newspaper, the editorial board of the Home News Tribune said the spending efficiencies "the Democratic Leadership has too long ignored". Nathoo and Mazzola pledged to reduce spending and increasing efficiency which would result in a reduction of property taxes, a more favorable business environment leading to a creation of new jobs.
The Newspaper also said that Upendra Chivukula was a council man in Frankin before bowing out due to public backlash. The Newspaper also said that "no central Jersey Legislative district screams more loudly for a change in representation than the 17th:
In response to the endorsement, Nathoo quoted President Obama and said "you can not expect a change if you keep on electing the same people". Nathoo also said "the price for electing Joseph Egan and Upendra Chivukula will be more unemployment, higher property taxes and more people losing their homes".
