10 and 11 Year Old Sister Entrepeneurs Open Blamtastic Jingle Contest For Fast-Growing Lip Balm Business

While most tween girls are planning sleepovers, The Sandler Sisters are planning their next marketing move for Blamtastic Lip Balm, their popular natural lip balm line. Despite the recession, the girls have managed to grow their business which now offers their products in more than 225 retail outlets throughout the USA and Canada. They even managed to get their product featured in The 2009 Emmy Awards Gift Bags. The savvy lip balm gurus now tap into their fan base to create a musical jingle to accompany their growing brand.

As CEO I implement the ideas but the girls steer the ship and have final approval on all business decisions. They design the concepts for all flavors, colors and packaging at Blamtastic themselves.

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) November 3, 2009 -- The typical American tween has a daily checklist which might include finishing homework and tidying their rooms. Lily and Melanie Sandler, ages 10 and 11, have those items on their list too. But as creators of their own line of lip balms and accessories, the girls might also have trade show appearances, market assessments and company sponsored charity fundraisers on their to-do list.

The girls began their business at the suggestion of their mother, Retha, who noticed the lack of women CEOs in the Fortune 500. She really wanted her daughters to learn independence and responsibility so she suggested they start a business of their choosing. The sisters brainstormed and 18 months later in November 2008, Blamtastic Lip Balm was born.

"I wanted it to be their business," said Retha. "As CEO, I implement the ideas but the girls steer the ship and have final approval on all business decisions. They design the concepts for all flavors, colors and packaging at Blamtastic themselves." She added, "The girls have learned all the life lessons I had hoped for and much, much more by being involved in running the company."

Since their launch one year ago, Blamtastic's popular line of 12 natural lip balms geared toward tween boys and girls has garnered quite a following of kids, tweens and teens alike. Their products are so special, they were recently featured in the 2009 Emmy Awards Gift Bags.

The girls have had such a blast running their business that they would like to invite their customers to join in the fun by asking their fans (fondly referred to as "The Blam Posse") to create a musical jingle for Blamtastic. They have partnered with a number of local music schools to encourage students to participate.

With a brand new iPod on the list of prizes for the winners of the jingle contest, Blamtastic is sure to receive many entries. The winning jingle will also be featured front and center on Blamtastic's website. Entries are being accepted on the Blamtastic website (www.blamtastic.com) through December 31, 2009 with winners to be announced in late January.

The girls' confidence is contagious. "It's the best lip balm on the planet," said Lily. "And we mean it," added Melanie. Put that to music, and they might have something.

All flavors of Blamtastic lip balm sell for $2.99 each. The Blamtastic Lip Blam Sleeve ($2.99), which holds lip balm in a sleeve that can hook onto notebooks, purses, belt loops or key chains. Check website for retail locations.
