Spend a Night At the Movies with the Westchester Chordsmen Chorus
On Wednesday, November 11, at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, the Westchester Chordsmen will perform Keeping Score at the Movies, a magical barbershop performance of America's favorite movie soundtracks
White Plains, N.Y. (PRWEB) November 4, 2009 -- The award-winning Westchester Chordsmen will hold a special performance of Keeping Score at the Movies, an a cappella journey through music used in classic American film, at the Westchester Broadway Theatre on November 11, 2009.
Chordsmen fans new and old will hear their favorite movie soundtracks like they've never heard them before: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz; "Speak Softly Love" from The Godfather; "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" theme from The Magnificent Seven; "Lara's Theme" from Dr. Zhivago, and many more.
With musical direction by noted vocalist Keith Harris, the Weschester Chordsmen will be taking the stage at the Broadway Theater in Elmsford, NY for the first time. "We're very excited to bring our full chorus and a number of quartets to the Broadway Theatre. It's ideal venue for our choral sound, and the much of the music in our show originated on Broadway."
"It's going to be a great night of songs you know and love from all the movies everyone has grown up watching, interpreted in new ways," says John Fotia, long-time Chordsmen member and writer of the show. "And for the younger generations of movie and music lovers, it's a chance to discover the classics and make them new again."
Keeping Score at the Movies, directed by Keith Harris and written by John Fotia, will be performed on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Westchester Broadway Dinner Theater (75 Clearbrook Rd. Elmsford, NY.) Dinner is at 6:00 p.m., performance at 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20. Group, senior and student rates are available.
