J.Viewz, Israeli Electronic Band, Performing 'Smooth Criminal' and Other Classics at Liv in DC

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming J. Viewz performance in DC at Liv on Saturday, November 7th, 2009. J. Viewz is recognized for their live electronic versions of Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson, Peace by Depeche Mode, and See line Woman by Nina Simone, of which J. Viewz was chosen to produce the official remix. The band, originally from Israel, received international acclaim from magazines such as Rolling Stone, The Jewish Standard, Platform Magazine, and DJ Mag. Their live show features electronic covers, new interpretations from their studio albums Muse Breaks and The Besides EP, and tracks released on compilations such as Chillout Sessions II. Doors open at 9PM. The opening act is DJ Chris Burns and DJ Saint James will close the show. Chris Burns was named "Deepest House DJ of 2008" in Washington, DC; Saint James has been playing many genres of house music all over the world professionally for the last thirty years. The J. Viewz project has been described as “freestyle chill” blending together elements of soft breakbeat, electro, 2 step and jazz. Israeli producer and remixer Jonathan Dagan, 28, established J. Viewz in Isreal in 2002; the band is now based out of Brooklyn, New York. Their debut album, Muse Breaks, was released in 2005 selling over 90,000 copies. “Your Country”, a single from that album, placed 3rd in the International Song Writing Competition. In 2008 they released The Besides EP.

Their live act is performed with the following line-up: Noa Lembersky, vocals; David Adda/Daniel Koren, piano and keyboards; Danni Makov/Yoni Halevi, drums and percussions; Urijah, trumpet, guitars, vocals; and Jonathan Dagan, programming, turntables, and guitars. Their current US tour will include performances at the famous Blue Note in New York City.
