5th Annual Aggie 100 Proves That Companies Can Grow During Tough Economic Times; No. 1 Business Experienced 287 Percent Growth

Despite many businesses struggling to make ends meet over the past few years, the Mays Business School’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M University today announced the recipients of the 5th Annual Aggie 100 which honors Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses that experienced significant growth from 2006-2008. Almost all 100 companies attended the luncheon event held at The Zone Club at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.

College Station, TX (PRWEB) November 6, 2009 -- Despite many businesses struggling to make ends meet over the past few years, the Mays Business School’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M University today announced the recipients of the 5th Annual Aggie 100 which honors Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses that experienced significant growth from 2006-2008. Almost all 100 companies attended the luncheon event held at The Zone Club at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.

The Top 10 companies on the Aggie 100 list combined to grow over 1,400 percent in the past two years with the top company, Andersen Schoel of Harker Heights, Texas experiencing a compound annual growth rate of 287 percent. 3.   Employer Flexible – Houston, TX
4.   Digital Discovery Corp. – Dallas, TX
5.   Brazos Technology – College Station, TX
6.   J.P. Miles Construction Corporation – College Station, TX
7.   Reichardt Construction, LLC – Cat Spring, TX
8.   Mackey & Tanner, LLC – Houston, TX
9.   Tesoro Homes & Development, Ltd. – San Antonio, TX
10.   Arch-Con Corporation – Houston, TX

“The Aggie 100 is a testament to the legacy of the values that Texas A&M instills in its Former Students,” said Dr. Richard H. Lester, Executive Director of the Mays Business School’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship. “We have a tradition that keeps growing each year and are extremely proud that our Aggie 100 list proves that good businesses – staying true to the Aggie Code of Honor – can and do continue to grow despite challenging economic times.”

The Aggie 100 focuses on growth as an indicator of job creation, product acceptance and entrepreneurial vision. The Aggie 100 recipients were selected based on compound annual revenue growth rate for the 2006 to 2008 period. In all, companies from seven states and five countries were honored at the event. The oldest company earning a spot on the list was founded in 1916.

The Texas A&M Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship (CNVE) provides encouragement, education, networking and assistance to entrepreneurially-minded students, faculty and Texas businesses.
