The National Alliance of Community and Technical Colleges (NACTC) Selects Capella University Doctoral Student as its New Executive Board President

Generosa López-Molina, a student of higher education leadership at the online university, began in her new role as executive board president on Feb. 23.

Minneapolis (PRWEB) March 5, 2008 -- The National Alliance of Community and Technical Colleges (NACTC) has named Generosa López-Molina, a doctoral student in Capella University's (www.capella.edu) School of Education, as the next president of its executive board. The NACTC is a consortium of 31 community and technical colleges from across the nation, first assembled in 1979 by the National Center for Research in Vocational Education (NCRVE) at Ohio State University.

In her new role, López-Molina will be responsible for convening NACTC's executive board meetings and bi-annual conferences, will provide consultation to member colleges and mentoring on issues of leadership and public discourse. The NACTC provides the latest innovations in leadership, institutional effectiveness, teaching, and programs to its member community and technical colleges.

López-Molina, who is dean of the Division of Academic Foundations at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, is also pursing a PhD degree in leadership in higher education from Capella University, an accredited,* fully online university. More than 1000 colleges and universities have employed Capella learners or alumni.

Lopez-Molina is also a past recipient of Capella's $50,000 League for Innovation doctoral scholarship, which includes tuition for three years, residency fees for three, one-week colloquia, and graduation fees.
