HeartSine Portable Defibrillator Donation Brings Added Safety to Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte ReStore Location

HeartSine Technologies has donated a portable Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to Habitat for Humanity, through Logistics Corporation.

Newtown, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) October 27, 2008 -- HeartSine Technologies, a leading supplier of public access defibrillators, has donated a portable Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to Habitat for Humanity, through Logistics Corporation, a re-distributor of safety products and supplies sold through distributors across the U.S.

The HeartSine samaritan™ Public Access Defibrillator, or PAD, will be installed in Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte's ReStore where donated products are sold to the general public to fund Habitat's operations. The defibrillator will protect the customers who are shopping on the premises, as well as Habitat staff.

This easy-to-use portable defibrillator can be used by almost anyone to save someone suffering from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The HeartSine samaritan™ PAD is known for its ease of use, durability and low cost of ownership.

"We are so pleased that Logistics could get involved and make a difference in this home build with a substantial donation of more than $30,000 in cash and products - much of it generously donated by our vendors," Donna Bruno, President of Logistics Corporation, said. "Habitat for Humanity is such a terrific cause and it makes perfect sense for our company to get involved, since we supply many of the safety products that are needed both on the worksite of a home build and inside the completed home."

Tom Kuelbs, Marketing Director for HeartSine added, "HeartSine is pleased to support this initiative and donate the AED for this Habitat location. Placement of AED's in public places for use by the lay rescuer is critical to saving lives in the event of SCA."

"We are so grateful to HeartSine for this donation as it is an added safety precaution for our ReStore customers," said Bert Green, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.
